Dr. Charlene Hope is the Chief Pharmacy Quality and Medication Safety Officer at the University of Chicago Medicine. She works with interprofessional teams to effectively implement patient safety strategies and quality improvement initiatives.

 

Dr. Hope has held an extensive array of clinical and leadership positions including Regional Pharmacy Quality and Safety Manager for Tenet Healthcare, and Regional Clinical Director for Comprehensive Pharmacy Services, and Director of Pharmacy for MacNeal Hospital. She is a frequent lecturer at both the state and national level on medication safety and pharmacy quality topics.

 

Dr. Hope holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Midwestern University, a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety from Northwestern University, and is Certified Professional in Patient Safety by NAHQ. Her mission? “To remain in pursuit of zero harm, in service of better”. Her strategy? Address key concepts including human factors, team dynamics, and redesigning healthcare delivery.
