Dr. Syed Sumair Akhtar is the Chief Clinical Officer at Livio Health. He is accountable for all clinical services which are delivered through the company’s modern house-call approach which includes primary, palliative and urgent care. He also serves as the Vice President of Stella Health, the parent company of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.

Dr. Akhtar joined Livio Health in March of 2021. Prior to this, he was the Chief Medical Officer for Caremore Health, where he oversaw mobile and health network markets that served Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and home-based care across 14 states. He has held various leadership roles throughout his career including as a Staff VP at Anthem and medical director for Iora Health.

Dr. Akhtar is a board-certified physician in internal medicine and received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He also holds a Master’s degree in health care delivery science from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
